May 15th, 16th, 17th 2016 — an unforgettable set of days for many people around Sri Lanka. The flood which took over many lives and disturbed many, mostly across Colombo suburbs.
G9 initially wanted to step in to help their members but then realised the potential they had was much greater. G9 teamed up with The Factory Outlet and many more contributors, starting off a flood relief campaign which was well received and acknowledged.
Members contributed in terms of money, vehicles, time and effort. They visited many corners and locations in the Western Province, tracing callers and validating authenticity — reaching families who had to give up their houses and look for shelter elsewhere.
During this cause, members of G9 made the decision to call off the annual Ifthar Project which was around the corner, and use those funds for the relief programme instead — a true reflection of the batch’s values and brotherhood.
